Markets that support local

All markets support locals in one or another way, here’s a recap of some of my favourite cities.

Pretoria stands out to me with all its unique toys and antiques, from vintage clothing to collectables. Everything is unique and handmade by local individuals. The items that are made are quality and don’t have a plastic look.

Durban Flea markets are colourful, and vibrant and always have that “local flavour” attached somewhere, there are a rising number of fresh produce markets coming up that offer both the variety of a market and fresh fish, fruit and vegetables.

Cape Town hosts some of the largest recorded markets in Africa, from antiques to hand-me-downs to new products and to authentic handmade leather products. I was both in awe and blown away by the architecture of how the Organisers pulled together the markets.
